Samaritan Welcomes Two New Executives to Their Leadership Team
Samaritan recently announced the addition of two new executives to the not-for-profit organization’s leadership team. Jim Seaman has been named Chief Financial Officer, and Sherri DeVita, RN, BS has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations.
“Jim and Sherri both possess invaluable skills in their respective fields and a wealth of experience in the healthcare space,” said Phillip W. Jim Seaman comes to Samaritan with more than thirty years of healthcare finance experience. He previously served as senior healthcare financial executive consultant with Furtek & Associates, where he managed healthcare clients nationwide and helped organizations develop and strengthen their internal controls to encourage sustainable growth. In his new role as CFO, Jim is responsible for overseeing all of the organization’s financial functions, including strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, accounting and revenue cycles. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from Millersville University.
Sherri DeVita, RN, BS, of Jim Thorpe has more than twenty years of nursing and clinical operations management experience, specializing in clinical services and clinical policies and procedures. As Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations at Samaritan, Sherri is responsible for overseeing all hospice operations, social work, counseling and Samaritan’s Center for Grief Support, as well as quality and compliance, business development, IT services and medical records. She first joined Samaritan in 2022 as the director of quality and Compliance, and was quickly promoted to vice president of quality, compliance & education in 2023. Sherri earned an associate degree in nursing from Luzerne County Community College and her bachelor’s degree in computer science and business administration from Ohio State University.
